SWCP Day 34 – 26 Sept 2018

Treen – Penzance

Never really reaching a consensus to walk together, Emily and I got to chatting as we packed up camp and headed east from Treen, and then just never really stopped. Generally I prefer to walk alone so that I can keep to a natural pace, but we rummaged along together okay.

At the first down-up to Penberth’s tiny little cove, we excitingly snuck up on filming for the new Poldark season. Couldn’t see the lead actors anywhere, but those extras all looked like they were having a blast.

Guided around the filming area, we had no excuse not to resume our way east.

It was a hot day (by British standards) and we were having to stop for water breaks pretty often. The first few miles of path puttered along on the cliff edges in whimsically random downs and ups. Here we are, celebrating one climb or another.

Refreshing breaks in Lamorna and Mousehole gave some relief (cider is medicinal, is it not?)…

…and we were soon dawdling along the road to Penzance, our shadows drawing out longer and longer in front of us in the afternoon light.

One last push up the steep suburban hills of Penzance to the YHA and we were done for the day.

Stats: 35269 steps; 150 floors; 24.48 km

  1. Interesting post chemotherapy look. You’d look very vulnerable of it weren’t for the glow in your cheeks pen.
