Falmouth – Portscatho
Low-lying cloud kept me a-bed longer than was wise, and getting around Pendennis Point was a bit of a rush before I hot-footed it to the ferry to St. Mawes. Pendennis Castle wasn’t remotely visible from the path, which was kind of a boring roadside walk. Rarely have I thought a bit of the swcp was a waste of time and energy. This was a rare exception. Anyhoo…
The first ferry to St. Mawes blew the cobwebs away and I was all smiles by the time I dashed to the second ferry to Place House on St. Anthony Head.

Rounding behind Place House, the path bisects a graveyard for this gorgeous little church.

The really exciting bit of trivia info about this part of the world, though, is all about St. Anthony lighthouse. This, dear lopers is where the Fraggles live! Remember Fraggle Rock? So exciting. Here’s proof…

I’m sure you all agree, dear lopers, that nothing could top that discovery. The rest of the day was puttering along low cliffs. The gloom continued, and I was rather gald to turn inland at Porthbean beach, just a bit north of Portscatho, and climb the field paths to Trewithian Farm B&B where I would lay my weary head for the night.
